Mary Lou has long dark thick hair. We layer Mary Lou's hair to give it movement and volume. The layers are shorter at the crown and blend to the longest length just below her shoulders. That works well for someone like Mary Lou because of the volume of her hair. If the hair is somewhat thin, bringing the length up above the should is recommended. Thin hair left beyond the shoulders only separates and does not look it's best. Even though Mary Lou's hair is slightly curly, she has a Keratin Protein relaxer on it to keep the hair smooth and easy to manage in the Florida humidity.
